Vicki Hargreaves is the artistic director and founder of Commotion Dance. Her passion for dance started at a very young age and has since grown into the creation of the company. Vicki has over 15 years experience in working within the field of dance and theatre, with a specialism in early years and work for families. Vicki has choreographed for renowned companies such as Replay Theatre Company, Theatre Hullabaloo, The Berry Theatre, Oily Cart Theatre Company and Dance-Africa. Vicki is currently a Propel Artist at The MAST Mayflower Studios. She has also co-created and produced the Play Artist Scheme for The Spring Arts Centre and works with a number of early to mid career performance companies as an advisor. Vicki has extensive knowledge of teaching dance in both contemporary and creative dance and has specialist skills in early years performance work. She received a first for her dissertation in Choreography and Dance at The University of Winchester and has more recently received a Distinction in Business Operations and Management from Solent University.

The company work with a range of highly skilled dance artists who all have performance and teaching backgrounds.

The company work collaboratively with Dougie Evans, as composer for Commotion’s performances, to create unique themed music for all our work. Dougie Evans is a freelance composer and sound designer for dance and theatre. Dougie has written music for internationally touring, award winning companies, with previous collaborations including Lîla Dance, Bootworks Theatre, Stopgap Dance, Commotion Dance, Ieva Kuniskis, La Petite Mort Theatre, Yael Flexer & Nic Sandiland, The Ballet Boyz, Ludus Dance, The Mayakaras, 3fall, Jerrel Jackson, and Joe Darby. His music is licensed for Media and Film through Felt Music.
